SCOPEX® SYRUP
Scopex® Syrup is a paediatric syrup used in the treatment of conditions associated with gastrointestinal spasms.2
DO NOT EXCEED RECOMMENDED DOSE.
The initial dose must be the lowest recommended for age.
Babies older than 1 month up to 3 months:
2.5 ml three times daily.
Infants older than 3 months up to 1 year:
2.5 to 5 ml three times daily.
Children older than 1 year up to 3 years:
5 to 10 ml three times daily.
Children older than 3 years up to 6 years:
10 ml three times daily.
Children older than 6 years up to 12 years:
10 to 20 ml three times daily.
Children older than 12 years and adults:
20 ml four times daily.

SIDE EFFECTS:
General disorders:
- dryness of the mouth
- difficulty in swallowing and talking
- thirst
Cardiac disorders:
- transient bradycardia
- tachycardia
- palpitations
- arrhythmias
Disorders of the eye:
- dilatation of the pupils
- loss in accommodation and photophobia
Respiratory disorders:
- reduced bronchial secretions
Gastrointestinal disorders:
- reduction in the tone and motility of the gastrointestinal tract leading to constipation
Skin disorders:
- flushing and dryness of the skin
Renal and urinary disorders:
- difficulty in micturition
Contains glycerol and sorbitol and may have a laxative effect.
Patients with the rare hereditary condition of sorbitol intolerance should not take Scopex® Syrup.
Scopex® Syrup should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.

SCOPEX® TABLETS
DO NOT EXCEED RECOMMENDED DOSE.
Two tablets (20 mg) four times daily.
The use of this medicine may lead to drowsiness and impaired concentration that may be aggravated by the simultaneous intake of alcohol or other central nervous system depressants. Patients should be warned not to drive a motor vehicle, operate dangerous machinery, or climb dangerous heights, as impaired decisions should lead to accidents. Contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary conditions such as galactose intolerance e.g., galactosemia, Lapp lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption or fructose intolerance should not take Scopex® Tablets.
Scopex® Tablets contain lactose which may have an effect on the glyceamic control of patients with diabetes mellitus. Use with caution in children, geriatric patients, patients with diarrhoea, fever, and in conditions characterised by tachycardia. Care is required in patients with acute myocardial infarction and in patients with hypertension. In patients with ulcerative colitis its use may lead to ileus or megacolon, and its effects on lower oesophageal sphincter may exacerbate reflux.
